A Lenten Invitation
Let not your heart be troubled
A Lenten invitation
We live in a harsh, hurting, and hurried world. This Lent, what would it look like to fast from the things that feed our hurry and anxiety, so that we can feast on the peace and rest of Jesus?
As you enter the season of Lent, consider these two questions:
1. What is something in my life that feeds my hurry and anxiety that I can give up for a season? Which appetites have a unique grip on my body or soul these days?
2. Where in your life do you need peace? In Jesus’ final message to His disciples, He says: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
What is a practice that you can add to your life during Lent that would connect you with the peace of Christ?
Breath Prayer for Lent
I release my trouble
And receive your peace
